I DIVIDE and WE ARE FICTION confirm for this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals

Reading and Leeds Festivals have announced that I DIVIDE and WE ARE FICTION will play on the BBC Introducing Stage at both festivals this year. DJ’s Huw Stephens and Zane Lowe will be discussing the line up additions on their shows this evening on BBC Radio 1.

Both bands recently signed to London based record label Destroy Everything.

Last month saw Exeter rockers I DIVIDE release the single, Follow Me, to be taken from their debut album which will be released later this year via Destroy Everything, as well as opening the second stage at Download Festival this summer.

Melodic hardcore quintet WE ARE FICTION have already released two singles from their debut album to be released later this year via Destroy Everything.

Still need some convincing? Here are some top facts on why your feet should be firmly planted in front of the stage when our guys come on.

Lead guitarist Henry Selley broke his arm at this year’s Slam Dunk Festival. Reading & Leeds will be the first time he has played live with the band since May.

Guitarist and backing vocalist Josh Wreford’s full time job is working for the Met Office. So if it rains at the festival you know whom to blame.Lead Guitarist Henry Selley was asked to be in Asking Alexandria when he was 15, before the band ever existed. The band once slapped vocalist Tom Kavanagh in the face with a wet fish in a music video. The fish wasn’t very pleased.
Clearly a rising talent, the band won ‘best rock band’ at the South West music awards last year.
Bass Player Kristen Hughes is scared of puddles. Let’s hope for his sake it doesn’t rain at the festival this year.

At their last hometown show they sold out Peterborough MET Lounge, the first time the venue had sold out from pre sales in over 10 years.

Bassist Ryan Chambers has a famous cousin, aka Aston from JLS. Shame he can’t dance like him though.
Vocalist Phil Barker once was a Kurt Cobain lookalike.

Guitarist Andi Scott Shaw once got really drunk at Hevy festival and shat himself. For a small fee the band are happy to re-live this moment in history at Reading and Leeds.

Once on tour they managed to leave vocalist/guitarist Marc Kucharski at a service station in Exeter and didn’t realise for over 100 miles. If they turn up at the festival with no guitar player, then this will be why.
