Aine: Job for a Cowboy started out primarily as a Deathcore group and into a predominantly Death Metal Band, what elements helped you mould into the band that you are now and the music style you play?
J: Simply growing up. We were extremely young when we put out the Doom EP, about 16 years old on average. We were undeveloped as a band and still managed to get a lot of notoriety and attention. We've naturally progressed and matured into a new beast.
Aine: Your first album ‘Genesis’ sold around 13,000 copies in its first week of release. How did it feel to top the charts of ‘best-selling heavy-metal debut album’ since Slipknots 1999 Debut?
J: Obviously didn't expect that by any means. When we initially heard the news I thought it was a joke. Still mind blowing.
Aine: There is a rumour going round that you got a record label by sending in a demo that sounded ‘emo’ and once you got signed, you produced a death metal album! Is this true or just a silly rumour?
J: This is probably one of the dumbest rumors I've ever heard. We got signed due to the Doom EP. Metal blade later on ended up re-releasing it. That would of been interesting if it was true.
Aine: Who is your biggest influence/idol?
J: Bill Hicks.
Aine: How is your current tour going so far?
J: A lot of fun, we've made great friends with all of the bands.
Aine: What parts of the world do you enjoy touring in most and where do you plan to conquer next?
J: Indonesia, we really, really, really need to go there. I enjoy Germany the most however.
Aine: Out of all the bands you have toured with, who would you say you have had the strongest connection with?
J: The Black Dahlia Murder/ Animosity/ Between the Buried and Me.
Aine: What are your future plans?
J: Touring our ass's off as always. Check out Demonocracy and show your friends!
